Is Villa Casa Juno conducive for people with limited mobility?
The villa has four bedrooms and three bathrooms upstairs, and one bedroom/one bathroom on the ground floor upon entering the front door. There is a short set of stairs down to the living, dining and kitchen areas and the sea view terrace. Additional stairs lead down to the pool area. Managing a few stairs will be necessary. To reach the beach and Old Town is a short walk on well-paved surfaces, with some downhill (and therefore, uphill on the way back) portions.
Tell me more about the 5th bedroom?
The 5th bedroom was renovated in 2018 and has air conditioning and brand new twin beds that can be made into a double. It is on the top floor of the villa and has an additional terrace with expansive views of the Marina and Old Town. It is a beautiful room with a separate sitting area. The bathroom for this bedroom is a floor below. The 5th bedroom is locked unless previously arranged with additional fee.
What is the parking situation? How many cars can be parked at the villa?
The villa has 2 driveways where 2 cars can easily be parked off the street. An additional car can be parked on the street in front of the villa.
If we elect to heat the swimming pool, at what temperature is the water set?
We set the pool heat to 28C/84F.
What is the check-in and check-out time? Is early check-in or check-out possible?
Check-in time is 4pm and check-out time is 10am. Whether or not early check-in or out is possible depends. Often times, we have guests departing/arriving on the same date as your arrival/departure. In these cases, we need you to stick to the requested check-in / out times. However, if we have flexibility, we can certainly accommodate early arrivals and late departures. If we cannot accommodate your request, we will do our best to store luggage. Please ask and we will do our best.
Where is the nearest grocery store?
There is a very well-equipped Intermarche grocery store about 2 minutes walk from the villa. They have all the necessities and more. However, for a much larger selection of fresh fish, meats, fruits and vegetables, and other products, the Modelo Continente in Albufeira is a 8-10 minute drive.
Do you have recommendations of restaurants and activities in the area?
Yes! We have a list of our personal recommendations of where we like to eat, wines we like to drink, and several activities that we have enjoyed. The list is accessible via QR Code in the villa. If you would like the list in advance in order to make reservations, please ask and we would be happy to send over.
Do you provide pool towels as well as bath towels?
Yes, we provide both.
Do we need to rent a car?
The beach and Old Town is reachable by foot in 10 minutes on well-paved surfaces, with some downhill (and therefore, uphill on the way back) portions. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in Old Town. There is also a grocery store within 2 minutes walk of the villa. You can also walk to the Albufeira Marina in less than 15 minutes, where you have access to more restaurants and activities such as boat trips, kayak trips, and scuba.
A car would be needed to drive to a larger grocery store (to buy fresh fish for example), to try other great restaurants in the area, or to visit wineries.
If we don’t rent a car, what options are available for transfers from the airport to Villa Casa Juno?
Public taxis, private shuttles and Uber are available at the airport to bring you to Villa Casa Juno, and also while traveling around the Algarve. We have found Uber to be quite reliable, but you need to make your own decisions regarding transportation.
What kind of coffee machine is available?
We have an expresso machine taking typical capsule-style pods, as well as a drip coffee machine for ground coffee. We also have a water boiler for tea.
